About Me

Hello there, fellow Bloggers! My name is Alexis Mucci. I am an 18-year-old freshman English major with a concentration in Creative Writing here at Bloomsburg University. So why don't I share a bit about myself?

Family

Believe it or not, I am actually not from Pennsylvania. I am originally from Long Island, New York.

It's a little strip of land at the bottom of the state that not many people know about. I was born on May 6th, 1999, which, according to astrology, means that I'm a Taurus.♉ I live with my mother👩, my father👨, my grandma👵, and my dog, Layla🐶. My older sister, Melissa👸, used to live with us but she recently moved out and now lives in her own space. We're quite a unique bunch living under one roof. There's my mom who's a nutrition counselor, my dad who knows anything and everything about cars and building things, my sister who's a hairdresser, and me who...well, that's what the rest of this blog is for, isn't it?

Favorite Things

So now that I've given some background on my family, let's go into what I personally enjoy. The first thing you should know is that I adore stories. I've loved reading ever since I was little and I make sure to read every single day. My favorite books are Alice in Wonderland, A Christmas Carol, and The Time Traveler's Wife. But I've come to learn that stories are not only found in books. They come in all art forms. That's why I'm a huge lover of the arts. I'll often be found reading or writing stories but also watching all kinds of movies or TV shows that interest me. I'm also into different kinds of music but I tend to listen to more songs from the 70's and 80's over songs that you'll hear on the radio today.🎵


Another one of my favorite things is the theatre, specifically musicals. I discovered my love of theatre at the end of my freshman year in high school and have been obsessed with musicals ever since. I've been to so many shows that I have a binder filled with Playbills of all the ones I've seen. I tend to be interested in musicals that aren't as popular or that not many people have heard of, which is how I discovered my two favorite musicals, Amélie and Soho Cinders.

Goals

The career I want to pursue also involves theatre. I don't want to be an actress though because I know I'm way too shy to do that. I'm more interested in the stories the shows present and how they get created. That's why I would like to be a librettist (the script writer of a musical) and also a lyricist.
